WHY FUNDS ARE NEEDED (where your donations go)

  • Raise public awareness of the problem through production and wide distribution of relevant health education materials in communities where malnutrition and noma are prevalent.
  • Promote good nutritional practices using locally-available foods.
  • Pay for immunization of the children against measles and other endemic infections.
  • Promote good oral hygiene practices and appropriate environmental sanitation.
  • Provide clean water supplies to the impoverished communities.
  • Train mothers, village elders and primary health care personnel about the early recognition of antecedent lesions of Noma in children.
  • Provide adequate facilities to treat patients locally
  • Provide financial support for epidemiological surveillance of Noma by Public Health personnel.
  • Support the activities of health facilities in the developing world.
  • Promote etiological research on the disease.
  • Identify and correct all other conditions promoting infectious diseases.
